In addition, there are some surgeons who operate faster than others. Some surgeons can easily perform multiple surgeries in one day, and some only do one or two per day. In my experience, the surgeons who can do multiple cases are usually are a bit cheaper. Why? High volume, shorter OR and anesthesia time.
It is up to the surgeon to decide if he wishes to offer any type of discount for his fee only.
Sites like Groupon and “Deal” sites are not necessarily in bad taste, in fact they are a wonderful option for services such as fillers and lasers which are offered as a product, are in a different category, and can be a great way to test out a new office or practitioner.
The horror stories that we read about online and on the news are consistently connected with people who are seeking out a surgical procedure at a discounted rate, who do not do their homework.
Remember, you get what you pay for! Do your research, and if something seems too good to be true, it usually is.
